The BarFly’s are only about an inch thick and comes with metal, rather than poly-shell designs. A four-tube BarFly 400, for example, looks like a flat panel computer monitor. The 400 measures about 12 inches by 12 inches, but puts out almost as much light as it larger 4ft 4Bank cousin.
Currently, the BarFly family is most at home on location and studio sets for television and feature film production, but many in the electronic field production and ENG community have discovered it for a small, two point or three point lighting kit to complement such popular location lighting instruments as the Kino Flo Diva-Lite® 400 and Diva-Lite® 200.
Kino Flo has developed new, high color rendering (CRI 95), high-output quad tubes for the BarFly fixtures. They are the first of their kind in the television or motion picture professional lighting industries, and come in True Match® daylight and TrueMatch® tungsten balanced styles.
